Jang In-sub heads back to the stage for Tunnel No. 1’s 16-year revival

Actor Jang In-sub is returning to the theatrical stage. Jang In-sub will take on the role of 'Mr. Kwak' in the play 'Tunnel No. 1,' which will run from the 24th of this month until the 30th of next month at the Seoul Sinchon Theater PLOT.

The original play 'Tunnel No. 1,' newly adapted after 16 years

This production is an original play created by the class of '06 from the School of Drama at the Korea National University of Arts in 2010, and it returns to the stage after being newly adapted 16 years after its initial creation. Set in the summer of 1992, the play tells the story of a young man named Il-ho who heads to a tunnel construction site to meet his father, and the characters who had to endure their respective lives there.

The character 'Mr. Kwak' to be portrayed by actor Jang In-sub

'Mr. Kwak,' played by Jang In-sub, is a character who anchors the play. He plays a role that silently endures the darkness of a desperate situation to reclaim a collapsed life and a scattered family, demonstrating human warmth and solidarity amidst the harsh labor site.

Having recently showcased realistic office worker acting in the tvN weekend drama 'Filing for Love,' Jang In-sub is set to express the weight of Mr. Kwak's life on this stage. His agency, SCENA ENT, stated, "Jang In-sub is preparing seriously to show another level of depth on stage through this work."

The play 'Tunnel No. 1' will perform at the Seoul Sinchon Theater PLOT until August 30.
