However, the mother-in-law called the wife to a restaurant and continued a one-sided conversation for approximately 4 hours. In the video, the wife reported that rather than explaining the specific reasons for her anger, the mother-in-law focused on venting her own grievances. During the meal, the husband showed an indifferent attitude, such as leaving the table to go to the bathroom or to smoke, or merely offering simple interjections.

The husband's lack of mediation and the recurring wall of communication

Another cause that deepened the marital conflict was the husband's failure to act as a mediator. The wife made efforts to restore the relationship, such as sending New Year's greetings or pocket money for Parents' Day, but the mother-in-law's reaction was cold. In particular, the husband's comment that "Mother said it would be difficult to accept" regarding the pocket money the wife sent was pointed out as a factor that rendered the wife's efforts futile.
