Actor Hong Woo-jin is set to take the stage as Larry, the protagonist of the play 'Closer.' Having maintained a steady acting career across dramas, plays, and musicals, he is expected to portray the inner psyche of a character caught between love and betrayal in this production.

Opening on September 15 at Seoul YES24 Stage Hall 2, 'Closer' is a masterpiece by British playwright Patrick Marber. Since its premiere in 1997, it has been staged in over 50 countries and was adapted into a film of the same name in 2004. Set in 1990s London, the play follows the tangled relationships of four men and women: Larry, Anna, Dan, and Alice. From the moment love begins to the point it ends, the play traces the meaning of communication and truth through the characters' desires and wavering hearts.

'Larry,' a character torn between love and betrayal

Larry, played by Hong Woo-jin, is the central figure anchoring this production. Larry is a realistic character who seeks a stable life yet constantly wavers when faced with unexpected love. He possesses a multi-dimensional nature, undergoing a transformation through the process of suffering both love and betrayal simultaneously.

Recently, Hong Woo-jin appeared on television through the tvN drama 'Tomorrow's Work!' On stage, he has built diverse experience appearing in the play 'Unbenannt' and the musicals 'Long Long Night' and 'Red Book.' In 'Closer,' he plans to present the character of Larry based on the stage experience he has accumulated.
