Moving away from their previous unconventional styling, they utilized everyday elements while creating a unique atmosphere through non-standardized character placement and gaze. The album title 'THIS & THAT' and the title track's name suggest the music will explore opposing values or the gap between the ordinary and the extraordinary.

Stray Kids has previously placed a total of eight albums at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, ranging from 2022's 'ODDINARY' to 2025's 'DO IT.' This marked the world's first instance of a group achieving consecutive number-one rankings on that chart. This new release is produced based on the musical identity the group has built over the past eight years.
